Axle Counter

The axle counter is a device that tracks the position of a train by counting the number of axles passing over specific points on the track. It can be used in various operating sections including maintenance depots, station premises and both single and double-track lines. The system is configured with an optical ring network and is not affected by weather conditions or track state.

The indoor axle evaluation unit is a safety-proven device certified to SIL4 standards.

Features

  • Applicable to Various Track Configurations Such as Inspection Depots, Station Yards, Single Tracks, and Double Tracks
  • Applicable Regardless of Track Length
  • Not Dependent on Various Track Circuit Parameters or Climatic Conditions
  • Ensures Communication Reliability through Optical Ring Network Configuration
  • ACE (Axle Counter Evaluator) Certified for SIL4 Safety and Configured with Dual Redundancy for High Availability

Configuration

Specifications

  • Configuration of track sections up to 20 km

  • Flange count detection of train wheels

  • Train detection at speeds of up to 360 km/h

  • Detection of train travel direction

  • Supports up to 30 Track Relay Interfaces / ACE units

  • Remote/local track section reset in case of abnormal events

Advantages

  • Ideal for lines with very high train density, operational bottlenecks or areas that are difficult to access during failures (e.g., tunnels)

  • Optimal for use in high-speed rail, urban transit systems and light rail networks
