BTM

Balise Transmission Module

The BTM is a critical wayside component in the European Rail Traffic Management System(ERTMS)/European Train Control System(ETCS) and it functions at ETCS level 1, 2, and 3. Specifically, the BTM generates and provides telepowering for balise operation, receives balise telegram data and decodes balise telegram data, and then relays this information to the KVC device.

Feature

  • Combine composite fail-safe and reactive fail-safe in a single 2-channel system to be applied
  • In case of a failure, the system is designed to operate in a safe state.
  • TSI compatibility test application standard (Subset Coding Requirement 100%) applied
  • GA SIL4 Certified

Expected Effect

  • Securing own technology and preparing for overseas exports
In research and development, it is essential for companies to secure their own technologies and continuously innovate. In addition, in preparation for overseas exports, it is important to secure competitiveness by developing products suitable for local markets, such as TSI and RAMS (RAMS stands for Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety of Railway Systems), which are European railway operation compatibility technology standards.

  • Implementation of On-board System
With additional acquisition of BTM system components and BTM system, the on-board system is implemented and it enable us to take a leading position in the market.

  •  Dependency on foreign equipment, supply and cost issues
High dependence on foreign equipment can be vulnerable to changes in the external environment. In contrast, if a company has the ability to produce products and possess its own technology through research and development, it can help reduce cost and increase efficiency by reducing instability in external supply and utilizing self-developed technologies.
