MODELING&SIMULATION

The Modeling & Simulation (M&S) system utilizes 3D technology to replicate real railway operating environments, enabling the verification of railway safety and operational efficiency.

Purpose of Implementation

Background of Implementation

Train Driver Training Equipment

  • Regulatory Foundation Established: Enactment of the Railway Safety Act and related enforcement decrees and regulations in 2004, including guidelines for train driver licensing and designation criteria for specialized training institutions

  • Regulation Enforced: July 2005 – Implementation of the train driver licensing system and reinforcement of qualification standards for railway personnel

  • Equipment Adoption: Training systems introduced by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority to support theoretical and practical licensing examinations

  • Training Institution Accreditation: Institutions applied for designation based on the official standards for specialized training providers and received approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT)

Train Dispatcher Training Equipment

  • Regulation Enforced: July 2015 – Introduction of the train dispatcher certification system and strengthened qualification standards for railway personnel

  • Equipment Adoption: Simulation equipment introduced by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority to support licensing-related theoretical and functional assessments

  • Training Institution Accreditation: Institutions applied for designation to provide dispatcher license training, met the criteria for specialized training centers, and were officially approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT)
